Tree of Life

Trees are probably the greatest beings that inhabit our planet. They thrive in every corner of the globe, sometimes living for thousands of years, outlasting empires, ice ages and droughts. They communicate, support each other, provide vital habitats, and are deeply rooted in the planet’s ecosystems… There is a lot we can learn from trees.

This project is about honouring the importance of trees and how we are innately connected to them. The Tree of Life design was drawn by hand, and every ring of the tree felt like a meditation, unfolding slowly and naturally. Just as each tree ring reflects and expresses the environmental situation of a tree, the rings in my drawing reflect my own headspace in each moment.

Each section of the drawing is a separate tattoo, but connects to all the others to form a whole tree. By participating in this project you will forever be connected to other human beings – just as trees are connected to each other through the mycelial network.
